From the label responsible for the ever successful Wild series comes Central Station Records with 'Wild Trance Anthems'. This three disc compilation of tunes 'sacred to trance' is undoubtedly a musthave onestop collection for the avid trance lover or the aspiring DJ to utilise as the foundation for a quality trance set.
Musically, the tunes move in a very cyclic format with each disc parabolic in effect. Uplifting punchy vocal trance 'hymns' are the perfect start to the compilation with recurring arrivals of undulating instrumental melodies to alternatively dissipate and build upon the energy with a conclusive finish of the joyful, overwhelming vibes so specific to trance. Disc 1 seems to be the disc for the more commercial and familiar trance songs, focusing on the standard melodic and vocal trance tunes.
Disc 2 comes across as being for the exclusive and more discerning hardcore fans. carrying over from the first CD with a melodic approach and moving towards the instrumental tunes of hard trance, digging deeper with profound beats and resolute basslines.
Disc 3 persists with the energetic and rhythmic vibe of Disc 2 and leaves lasting impressions as the ideal introductory disc for the inexperienced though enthusiastic trance lovers, or the perfect musical setting as a sentimental journey for those with an already astute taste. The propulsion of the final disc has a definite convergence towards 'new beginnings' featuring instrumental melodies uplifting and euphoric in nature. and thus evoking thoughts of arms reaching for the lasers, legs firmly spread and heads raised to the heavens.
The final half of this CD seems the perfect soundtrack to following one as they leave the club at 5am. It is apparent that a great deal of consideration has gone into the assignment of each tune, with the placements of each melody intended as a collection for the perfect set. This compilation is cleverly patched together, serving as the perfect trance puzzle. While each tune is not mixed seamlessly into each other, this does not detract from the overall vibrancy of the album.
Though the lack of mixing is at first surprising, there is no brusqueness as the vibe of this outstanding compilation works its way into the sub consciousness as each beat from the end of the tune beautifully correlates to the next.
'Wild Trance Anthems' allows the greatness of each tune to stand on their own, setting no limits for the album to remain conspicuous in its own raw power.
